Tour Plan
Day 1: Marrakech → High Atlas Mountains → Ait Benhaddou → Ouarzazate → Skoura Oasis
For the first day of our 4 days from Marrakesh to Fes via Sahara desert, we are departing Marrakech at 08:30 in the morning; we are leaving for Ouarzazate which is considered as the starting point to the southern part of Morocco. We move through the High Atlas Mountains through the TiziN’Tichka pass (2260m), beautiful sceneries and views of Berber Tribes settlements. On the way to Ouarzazate, we enjoy a visit to the famous UNESCO heritage site of Kasbah Ait Benhaddou popular for various movies and a beautiful structure. Momentum, we proceed with the Kasbah of Taourirt or take its pictures and relieve it. From there, we continue through the Skoura Oasis where ancient Kasbahs are situated in the middle of palm groves; this will be our first nightin a very nice Guest house .
Day 2: Skoura Oasis → Valley of Roses → Dades Valley → Tinghir → Todra Valley → Todra Gorges → Merzouga
We proceed with our 4 days from Marrakesh to Fes via Sahara desert by driving through the Valley of Roses and visiting a workshop that produces cosmetics out of roses that are grown in the valley. From there we proceed to Merzouga crossing through the valley of the roses and the valley of the tentative of thousand kasbahs. In Tinghir, we explore the local palms, kasbahs and the awesome Todra gorges. We then move through Rissani, Erfoud, and the Tafilalte oasis all the way to Merzouga. The break in Merzouga with spectacular desert views .then Enjoy a nice walk and admire the sunset over the sand dunes and then have a nice dinner and sleep over at a Riad in Merzouga.
We also take a 1-hour camel ride without haste to our camp where we watch the sunset over the dunes of Erg Chebbi. For dinner, we dine under natural canvass of the sky and as we go to sleep, Berber music rocks the night in traditional nomad tents giving one an experience of the desert.
Day 03 :Explore the Sahara Desert
On the day 3 of your 4 days from Marrakech to Fes via Sahara Desert , enjoy a relaxing and delicious breakfast than take a shower at the hotel. Experience an interesting part of Moroccan desert at Merzouga by going out for a half day 4 X 4 exploration of the Merzouga region with a nice off -road drive and stop for a tea break with a nomad family and have an idea about their life, It is recommended to go to Khamliya where followers perform the unique Gnawa music that originated from the black slaves of the region. Experience the real life of the nomadic people and that can participate with the neither in eating lunch or in taking tea.
Later, the rest of the day is free to either lounge idly or go for optional activities like sand boarding, a simple walk or quad biking. Being the end of the day, at about two hours to sundown, go for a beautiful camel riding across the dunes for the beautiful sunset. Head to the desert camp, and have dinner followed by an overnight at the camp, beside the fire, listening to the music, under the stars. This is your chance to get a feel of the quiet and calmness of the desert as you enjoy this lifetime experience
Day 4: Merzouga → Erfoud → Errachidia → Midelt → Cedar Forest → Ifrane City → Fes
Following breakfast, a pleasant drive through the middle Atlas Mountain towards Fez is what the day calls for. Take lunch in the cute towns of Midelt or Zayda. After this, it is advised to proceed to the largest cedar forest in North Africa inhabited by wild monkeys. A few kilometers away is the town of Ifran which people fondly call Morocco’s Switzerland due to the greenery and most especially because it is one of the few skiing resorts in the Middle Atlas with an altitude of 1665 meters.
In addition, Ifran is the name that is derived from the Berber word for Caves and also houses the lavish The Brotherhood private university which was founded in 1997 by King Hassan II of Morocco and King Fahd of Saudi Arabia for the provision of all English medium courses. Relax for a moment to enjoy the calmness of the environment and have a coffee break, as we head to the imperial city of Fes.
