Tour Plan
Day 1 : Marrakech -> High Atlas mountains –> Ait Benhaddou Kasbah -> Ouarzazate-Skoura Palm Oasis
Your Marrakesh to Fes tour through the Sahara Desert starts with a pick up from your hotel in the morning and here are the details. We shall move to Ouarzazate the starting point to the Deep South through the High Atlas Mountains and Tizi-N-Tichka pass (2260m) with beautiful scenes and Berber terraced homes. En route, we will make a visit to one of the Kasbahs, namely Ait Benhaddou that is listed in the UNESCO world heritage list and is also famous for its role in the shooting of many movies. After the lunch we will proceed for the further journey to Ouarzazate and on the way we will make a halt for the photography at the famous Taourirt Kasbah.
From there, our trail passes the Skoura Oasis where Kasbahs can be seen scattered all over palm groves. Our first stop will be the less popular but equally interesting Amridel Kasbah and then we will be proceeding to our guest house in the oasis for the first night and to get ready for the second day of our 3-day desert tour from Marrakech to Fes.
Day 2 :Skoura –> Valley of Roses -> Dades valley —> Todra Valley -> Todra Gorges -> Merzouga
Our first stop on the day 2 of our 3-day desert tour from Marrakech to Fes will be the Valley of Roses and we can opt to visit cosmetics made from roses grown in the valley after taking our breakfast. This is due to the fact that it leads to Merzouga via the Valley of the Kasbahs, with a break in Tinghir for palm groves and a nice walk in the spectacular Todra Gorge. Then, we will continue to Rissani, Erfoud and the Tafilalt oasis and finally to Merzouga.
In the late afternoon we shall enjoy a fascinating . We have to trek on camels for 1 hour and half to get to our campsite that is set in the middle of Erg Chebbi sand dunes. Here we will be able to see the beautiful sunset over the desert sands. The rest of the day and night will be spent in a nomad tent, depending on the season one may witness the enchanting Berber music dance under the stars and the moon light whilst in the Sahara Desert.
Day 3 : Merzouga-Erfoud – Errachidia – Midelt – Ifran – Fez
The early morning will be spent in enjoying the beautiful sunrise and having breakfast then you will proceed to Fes via the middle atlas mountains. You will be taking a very good lunch either at Midlet or at Zaida. Thereafter, the trip continues to the biggest cedar forest in North Africa where you are likely to meet wild monkeys among the cedars trees. Adjacent to it is the beautiful city of Ifrane also known as the ‘Little Switzerland’ due to its green look and being a ski resort in the Middle Atlas area standing at an altitude of 1665 meters. Ifrane is also famous for The Brotherhood private university which was founded in 1997 by King Hassan II of Morocco and King Fahd of Saudi Arabia and famous for teaching all the courses in English.
