Day 1: Fes → Ifrane → Midelt → Errachidia → Erfoud → Merzouga
While on this 3 days from Fes to Marrakech via sahara desert and atlas mountains, you will be able to have a glance at the middle atlas and higher atlas mountain ranges. It is worthy to start from Ifran which is referred to as ‘Morocco’s Switzerland’ before proceeding to the Berber city of Azrou that hosts the biggest cedar forest in the country. This is the place where you might get a chance to see Barbary apes in the wild.
You preceded your trip further, cross the Atlas’ marvelous hills and mountains to get to Midelt. After that, the interesting Tizi N’talghamt pass and Ziz Gorge are next where the view changes to a desert like scenery before reaching the city of Errachidia. Day 2: Merzouga → Tinghir → Todra Gorges → Dades Valley → Valley of Roses → Kalaa Megouna → Skoura Palm Oasis
For this second day of our 3 days from Fes to Marrakech via sahara desert and atlas mountains Getting up before the sun rises gives a way of witnessing the sunrise as it unfolds and awakens the sand dunes. After this nice and calm trip, we are coming back from the desert, to Merzouga Village for breakfast and shower in a Riad ,but if you take luxury camp option you shower at the camp, We then depart to Tinerhir to have our visit to the enormous Todra Gorge. The finally dramatic feature associated with the Todra River for its 40 kilometer long path through the mountains is one of the most impressive natural wonders of Morocco – Gorge with sides of cliffs. The last 600 meters of the gorge are especially picturesque, the track is flat and stony, in some places it is no more than 10 meters wide and bordered by vertical, smooth rock faces.
We then head to the Rose Valley and on the way we pass through the village of Kella Mgouna which is characterized by rose farming. At this time of the year specifically in April and May, roses are in full bloom and their fragrance fills the whole valley. Moving on the road of thousand Kasbahs, we will reach the Skoura Oasis where we will have night accommodation into the middle of the palm grove full of Kasbah’s nuance. Day 3: Skoura → Ouarzazate → Ait Benhaddou Kasbah → High Atlas Mountains → Marrakech
For the last day of our 3 days from Fes to Marrakech via sahara desert, you will be Leaving Skoura we proceed to Ouarzazate City where we make a short photo stop beside the exterior of Taourirt Kasbah. Moving on we pay a visit to one of the most iconic Kasbahs of Morocco – a UNESCO site – Aït Benhaddou. This walled town, is among the oldest structures in the region, and was an important trading post in the 11th century during the trans-Saharan trade. Here, guests will be able to stroll through the small alley like streets and such like passages which are the characteristic feature of the mud-brick city.
We then proceed over the high Atlas Mountains on this twisted road. There will be a short stop half way through the Tizi N’Tichka pass that is at 7,415ft/2,260m before proceeding to view the mountainous skyline. When descending we will stop at one of the Argan Oil Cooperatives in Taddert for a demonstration on how this oil is processed traditionally. Last but not least, let the descent in the High Atlas and check the view that changes gradually as we get closer to the end of our marvelous Morocco desert tour.
