DAY 1 - Marrakech - Ouarzazate – Agdez-Draa Valley –Zagora
Our desert trips have you rising leaving Marrakech about 8:00 am to reach one of desert town in morocco , via the high Atlas Mountains on the Tichka Pass which is about 2600m, a panoramic road with unrivalled views, and Berber authentic villages. Following this you will visit Ouarzazate – the gateway town to the Sahara. When you will arrive in Ouarzazate, you will visit the Kasbah Taourirt then we leave towards to Zagora via Agdz and through the beautiful Draa valley ,with its millions of palm trees is considered the largest valley of palms in Morocco. Arrival in Zagora will be in the evening. You will then sleep in a very nice Hotel (Riad).
DAY 2 - Zagora-Tamegroute –M’hamid - Erg Chegaga
After breakfast we will visit the the original town of the 16th century dynasty (Saadian), Tamgroute, to visit the old Koran library and to see the ceramics the area is famous for. We arrive to the Saharan village of Mhamid before taking the off-road track to Erg Chegaga to ride the camels into the desert to see the sunset on top of the dunes. We will have a traditional tagine dinner, drink delicious mint tea, listen to traditional Berber music while watching the stars and the rising moon in the amazing Sahara desert. We will spend the night in a traditional nomad tent.
DAY 3 - Erg Chegaga-foum Zguid-Taznakhte-Marrakech
Early morning wake up in order to ride camels to the top of the dunes for a beautiful sunrise and panoramic desert horizon before making our way back to the hotel for breakfast and a shower. We will then follow the old Paris Dakar road to Foum Zguid, crossing the dry lake of Iriqui. We will have lunch in the berber village of Taznakht which is very known for it’s original artisan weaving carpets. Then continuing to Marrakech.
